Bummer! I can’t imagine that happening without damage to the things connected at either end. Like a router or hub. Or the cable/ISP’s modem.
I tried to turn this into one of your philosophical questions but it seems there is no way I can see to make it metaphysical. Either stuff is fried and inoperable or isn’t. Unlike humans who can be fried and operable, fried and inoperable, unfried and operable, or unfried and inoperable. These sets rarely intersect. Except in some political figures, felony defendants, or celebrities.
