OK. Ya hit a nerve. What’s a politician? One who seeks office? One who wins office? One who (as my wife says) “whores for money to win”? Or anyone who articulates a position on an issue? Demonizing politicians seems kinda antidemocratic . . . existentially speaking.

Excuse me. I hit “post” too soon.
Full disclosure: I am an elected member of my local Board of Education.

Ha! This happens to me like every Friday night (”OH! A philosopher! Okay! So what am I thinking RIGHT NOW?”).
A guy on a plane recently asked me why I do philosophy. He says: “I mean, I have a friend who’s a Philosophy Major, but her parents are both psychiatrists… so ..y’know…”.
“Not really,” I say.
“Well, I mean, it sorta… follows… doesn’t it?”
It is times like this that I am grateful that God invented the Ipod.
